Myron Dixon

Free world Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Myron Dixon

I started my Jiu Jitsu journey at Vandry Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in March of 2008. It was love at first roll. I originally sought out BJJ to help me as a law enforcement officer. I spent the next few years training twice a day. I have competed at white, blue, and purple belt levels. I have even won the Texas Police Games in 2010, in no gi. I began coaching and instructing as a purple belt. I started with kids and realized that you had to have a firm understanding of the art to break down techniques so children will understand. After some time and setbacks (AKA life) I received my Black Belt from Professor William Vandry, Austin’s First Black belt, in the fall of 2018. After leaving Vandry Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2019, I found a home at Free World JJ where I train and teach to this day. I have learned a ton here about family and the great Ohana vibe.

Hope to see you on the mats.
